Love the park. We were married here.
View of Maumee River makes this a delightful park. I think it's the best of the Metroparks for walking and bike riding. Long and narrow, this park hugs the river for two miles, then extends all the way to Grand Rapids, Ohio, via the old Erie Canal trail. Watch for poison ivy! It's abundant everywhere, including both sides of the trail.
This is an excellent place to walk, run or bike during the summer. Nearly all the path is covered in shade by a dense tree canopy. The path itself is a well maintained hard packed dirt and gravel.
We're breeders from Michigan and we were meeting clients here one afternoon with a puppy. What a fantastic park!! Our children and our dogs, and the puppy in tow, all enjoyed it. We played in one park at one end where we met an amazing couple, and then we took a long walk along the waterway while our kids and they puppy's parents got their energy out for the drive home. I can see this being a wonderful place for locals to run, walk, and hike all year long, and to bike and play in the more seasonable months. It was very scenic, it had well marked trails. It had maps along the routes so you always knew where you were and how far you were from the next point. It had places to sit and relax. Places for kids to play. And great playgrounds. I loved this park system. Fantastic!
Great park, running and bicycling trail. Several tent sites along the river with great views.
